A comforting hug on a plate, this Tater Tot Casserole combines ground beef, creamy mushroom soup, and crispy tater tots topped with gooey cheddar cheese.

- 1 pound ground beef
- 1 can cream of mushroom soup
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 1 bag frozen tater tots
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1 small onion, diced
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a skillet, cook the ground beef and diced onion over medium heat until the beef is browned and the onion is tender. Drain any excess fat.
- In a large bowl, mix the cooked beef and onion with the cream of mushroom soup, milk, and half of the shredded cheddar cheese. Combine thoroughly.
- Transfer the mixture into a greased 9×13 inch baking dish, spreading it evenly across the bottom.
- Top with frozen tater tots in a single layer.
- Sprinkle the remaining cheddar cheese over the tater tots.
- Bake for 30-35 minutes, or until the tater tots are golden brown and crispy.
- Let it cool slightly before serving.
Notes
Feel free to swap out the cheddar for another cheese or add vegetables like corn or peas for extra nutrition.
