Description

A comforting hug on a plate, this Tater Tot Casserole combines ground beef, creamy mushroom soup, and crispy tater tots topped with gooey cheddar cheese.


Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 can cream of mushroom soup
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 bag frozen tater tots
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1 small onion, diced
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a skillet, cook the ground beef and diced onion over medium heat until the beef is browned and the onion is tender. Drain any excess fat.
  3. In a large bowl, mix the cooked beef and onion with the cream of mushroom soup, milk, and half of the shredded cheddar cheese. Combine thoroughly.
  4. Transfer the mixture into a greased 9×13 inch baking dish, spreading it evenly across the bottom.
  5. Top with frozen tater tots in a single layer.
  6. Sprinkle the remaining cheddar cheese over the tater tots.
  7. Bake for 30-35 minutes, or until the tater tots are golden brown and crispy.
  8. Let it cool slightly before serving.

Notes

Feel free to swap out the cheddar for another cheese or add vegetables like corn or peas for extra nutrition.
