Description

A comforting and hearty Tater Tot Casserole combining browned ground beef, creamy mushroom soup, and crispy tater tots, perfect for busy families.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 can cream of mushroom soup
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 16 ounces frozen tater tots
  • 1/2 cup chopped onion
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Heat a skillet over medium and cook the ground beef with the chopped onion until fully browned; drain excess fat.
  3. In a large bowl, stir together the cooked beef, cream of mushroom soup, and half of the shredded cheddar. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
  4. Grease a baking dish and spread the beef mixture evenly into the dish.
  5. Arrange the frozen tater tots in a single layer over the meat mixture.
  6. Sprinkle the remaining cheddar on top of the tater tots.
  7. Bake for 25–30 minutes, or until the tater tots are golden brown and crisp and the cheese is bubbly.
  8. Let the casserole rest for a few minutes before serving.

Notes

For extra-crispy tots, partially bake them before completing the dish. Can be assembled ahead and refrigerated before baking.
