Description

A cozy bowl of Swedish meatball soup featuring tender meatballs, creamy broth, and aromatic seasonings, perfect for chilly evenings.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1/4 cup onion, finely chopped
  • 1 egg
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 4 cups beef broth
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon dried thyme
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Fresh parsley for garnish

Instructions

  1. In a mixing bowl, combine the ground beef, breadcrumbs, finely chopped onion, egg, salt, and black pepper. Mix well and form small meatballs.
  2. In a large pot, bring the beef broth to a boil over medium heat. Once boiling, reduce the heat and add the meatballs. Let them cook for about 10-15 minutes, or until fully cooked through.
  3. Stir in the heavy cream, Worcestershire sauce, garlic powder, thyme, and additional salt and pepper to taste.
  4. Allow the mixture to simmer for another 5-10 minutes for the flavors to meld beautifully.
  5. Serve the warm soup in bowls, garnished with fresh parsley.

Notes

If desired, you can swap ground beef for ground turkey or chicken. Use gluten-free breadcrumbs for dietary restrictions.
