This delicious banana bread is packed with gooey chocolate chips, making it a perfect treat for any occasion.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 & 1/2 cups (180g) all-purpose flour, spooned and leveled
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup (1 stick / 115g) unsalted butter, melted and slightly cooled
- 1/4 cup (60mL) vegetable oil
- 3/4 cup (150g) granulated sugar
- 2 large eggs, at room temperature
- 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
- 1 & 1/2 cups (360g) mashed ripe bananas (approximately 3–4 medium bananas)
- 1 cup (170g) semi-sweet chocolate chips
Instructions
- Whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt in a small bowl; set aside.
- In a large mixing bowl, combine melted butter, vegetable oil, sugar, eggs, and vanilla. Whisk until smooth.
- Mix in the mashed bananas until well blended.
- Gradually add the dry mixture to the wet mixture. Stir gently until just combined—do not overmix!
- Fold in the semi-sweet chocolate chips.
- Pour the batter into a pre-greased loaf pan. Bake in a preheated oven at 350°F (175°C) for 50 to 60 minutes until a skewer inserted into the center comes out with a few moist crumbs.
- Allow the bread to cool in the pan until warm, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely before slicing.
Notes
For richer flavor, substitute vegetable oil with melted coconut oil or use darker chocolate chips. Best served with cream cheese or almond butter.
