Description

A quick and delicious creamy pasta dish with ground beef, perfect for busy weeknights.


Ingredients

  • 1 pound lean ground beef
  • 8 ounces penne or fusilli pasta
  • 1 cup heavy cream (or half-and-half)
  • 1 medium onion, diced
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 cup low-sodium vegetable broth
  • 1 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 2 teaspoons Italian seasoning
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil

Instructions

  1. In a large skillet over medium heat, heat the olive oil. Sauté the diced onion until it becomes translucent, about 5 minutes. Add the minced garlic and cook for another minute.
  2. Add the ground beef to the skillet. Cook until it is browned, about 6 to 8 minutes. Season with salt and pepper.
  3. While the beef cooks, boil salted water in a separate pot. Cook the pasta according to the package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
  4. Pour the vegetable broth into the skillet with the cooked beef. Stir in the heavy cream and let it simmer for about 3 minutes until slightly thickened.
  5. Stir in the Parmesan cheese until it melts smoothly into the sauce.
  6. Combine the cooked pasta with the sauce in the skillet, stirring gently to coat. Adjust seasoning if necessary.
  7. Serve immediately with extra Parmesan on top.

Notes

For a healthier option, use ground turkey or chicken instead of beef. Add vegetables for extra nutrition.
