Description

A comforting bowl of noodles coated in a sticky, sweet, and savory garlic sauce with tender pieces of chicken, perfect for busy weeknights.


Ingredients

  • 1 lb chicken breast or thighs, cut into bite-sized pieces
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 3 tbsp honey
  • 4 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1 tsp grated ginger
  • 1/2 tsp red chili flakes (optional)
  • 2 tbsp cornstarch
  • 2 tbsp vegetable oil
  • 8 oz noodles (rice or egg)
  • 2 green onions, chopped
  • 1 tsp sesame seeds (optional)

Instructions

  1. In a mixing bowl, combine soy sauce, honey, minced garlic, grated ginger, and optional chili flakes to create the sauce.
  2. Toss the chicken pieces in cornstarch until evenly coated.
  3. Heat vegetable oil in a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat.
  4. Add the chicken and cook until golden and fully cooked through, roughly 6–8 minutes.
  5. Pour the sauce mixture over the chicken, stirring to coat. Let it simmer for 1–2 minutes to thicken.
  6. Cook the noodles according to package directions. Once done, drain and toss them with a little oil if desired.
  7. Add the cooked noodles to the skillet and toss everything together until well combined.
  8. Garnish with chopped green onions and sesame seeds before serving.

Notes

Make sure not to overcrowd the skillet when cooking chicken. Cook in batches if necessary to get a perfect golden sear.
