Description

A quick and satisfying bread recipe that’s warm, airy, and flavorful, perfect for any occasion.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 cups warm water
  • 1 packet (2 1/4 teaspoons) active dry yeast
  • 2 teaspoons salt
  • 1/4 cup olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon fresh rosemary (optional)
  • Coarse sea salt for sprinkling

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, combine the warm water and yeast. Allow it to sit for about 5 minutes, until it becomes frothy.
  2. Add the olive oil, flour, and salt to the yeast mixture. Stir until a dough forms.
  3. Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 5 minutes, until it’s smooth and elastic.
  4. Oil a baking sheet, then spread the dough onto it. Use your fingers to create dimples all over the surface.
  5. Cover with a kitchen towel and let it rise for 30 minutes.
  6. Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C).
  7. Drizzle olive oil over the dough and sprinkle with coarse sea salt and rosemary if desired.
  8. Bake for 20-25 minutes, or until the top is golden brown.
  9. Once done, remove from the oven, let it cool slightly, and enjoy!

Notes

Make sure your water is warm but not hot for yeast activation. Kneading is key for perfect texture.
