Description

A delicious and easy way to enjoy breakfast with a soft, custardy texture combined with sweet blueberries.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 loaf of bread (cubed)
  • 2 cups of blueberries (fresh or frozen)
  • 6 eggs
  • 2 cups of milk
  • 1/2 cup of sugar
  • 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract
  • 1 teaspoon of cinnamon
  • Butter (for greasing)
  • Powdered sugar (for serving, optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a baking dish with butter.
  2. In a large bowl, whisk together eggs, milk, sugar, vanilla extract, and cinnamon.
  3. Layer the bread cubes in the baking dish and sprinkle the blueberries on top.
  4. Pour the egg mixture over the bread and blueberries, ensuring all bread is soaked.
  5. Allow it to sit for 15 minutes to absorb.
  6. Bake for about 40-45 minutes or until the top is golden brown and set.
  7. Let it cool for a few minutes, then serve with powdered sugar if desired.

Notes

Use day-old bread for the best texture. Substitute with other berries or add chopped nuts/chocolate chips for variation.
