Description

Delightful and creamy Southern pecan pralines, perfect for sharing or enjoying as a sweet treat.


Ingredients

  • 4 tablespoons butter
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 cup light brown sugar
  • ¼ teaspoon salt
  • ½ cup heavy cream
  • 2 cups pecan halves (lightly toasted)
  • 1 tablespoon vanilla

Instructions

  1. Line 2 cookie sheets with parchment paper.
  2. Toast the pecan halves in the oven until lightly browned and fragrant.
  3. In a saucepan, melt the butter over low heat.
  4. Add sugar, brown sugar, salt, and heavy cream to the melted butter and whisk until combined.
  5. Cover and heat the mixture on medium until boiling (about 2-3 minutes).
  6. Remove the lid and continue boiling until temperature reaches 242ºF (about 5 minutes).
  7. Add toasted pecans and vanilla quickly; whisk until the mix thickens and turns creamy.
  8. Spoon the mixture onto the prepared parchment paper using a spatula.

Notes

Ensure to toast the pecans lightly for enhanced flavor. Use a candy thermometer for accurate temperature gauging.
