Description

Delicious cookies combining wholesome oats and sweet chocolate chips, perfect as a snack or dessert.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup rolled oats
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup chocolate chips

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a blender or food processor, blend 1/2 cup of the rolled oats until finely ground.
  3. In a mixing bowl, combine the blended oats, remaining rolled oats, flour, baking soda, and salt.
  4. In another bowl, cream together the softened butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.
  5. Add the egg and vanilla extract to the sugar mixture, mixing until well combined.
  6. Gradually mix in the dry ingredients until just incorporated. Be careful not to overmix.
  7. Fold in the chocolate chips until evenly distributed.
  8. Drop spoonfuls of dough onto a baking sheet lined with parchment paper, spacing them apart.
  9. Bake for 10-12 minutes or until the edges are golden brown.
  10. Allow to cool slightly on the baking sheet before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.

Notes

For best results, use old-fashioned rolled oats and consider chilling the dough before baking.
