Description

A delicious take on the popular steakhouse classic featuring juicy chicken breasts coated in a crispy, cheesy mixture.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1 cup grated Parmesan cheese (divided)
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1/4 cup milk
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a shallow dish, combine the breadcrumbs, half of the grated Parmesan cheese, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper.
  3. In another bowl, whisk together the eggs and milk until well combined.
  4. Place the flour in a third dish, ready for dredging.
  5. Dredge each chicken breast in flour, shaking off excess.
  6. Dip the floured chicken into the egg mixture, allowing excess to drip off.
  7. Coat the chicken in the breadcrumb mixture, pressing lightly to adhere.
  8. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat and cook each chicken breast for 3-4 minutes on each side until golden brown.
  9. Transfer the chicken to a baking dish. In a separate bowl, mix the remaining Parmesan cheese, mozzarella, and minced garlic. Top each chicken breast with this cheesy mixture.
  10. Bake for 20-25 minutes or until the chicken is cooked through and the cheese is bubbly.

Notes

Consider plating the chicken atop creamy mashed potatoes or alongside roasted vegetables. Leftovers can be stored in an airtight container for up to three days.
