Description

A crispy, cheesy, golden-baked chicken reminiscent of the popular restaurant dish, perfect for weeknights or casual dinners.


Ingredients

  • 4 boneless skinless chicken breasts
  • 1 cup bread crumbs
  • 1 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1/4 cup milk
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F. Lightly grease a baking dish large enough for the four chicken breasts.
  2. In one shallow dish, mix 1 cup bread crumbs, 1/2 cup Parmesan, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper.
  3. In a second dish, beat the eggs with milk. In a third dish, place the flour.
  4. Pat chicken breasts dry and dredge each in flour, dip into the egg mixture, and coat with the breadcrumb-Parmesan mixture.
  5. Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat and cook chicken for 3–4 minutes per side until golden brown.
  6. Transfer the seared chicken to the prepared baking dish in a single layer.
  7. In a bowl, combine remaining 1/2 cup Parmesan, mozzarella, and minced garlic; sprinkle over chicken breasts.
  8. Bake for 20–25 minutes, or until chicken is cooked through and cheese is melted and golden.
  9. Let rest for 3–5 minutes before serving.

Notes

For extra crunch, use Panko breadcrumbs. For a gluten-free version, substitute with gluten-free breadcrumbs and flour.
