- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon dried oregano
- 1 teaspoon dried basil
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1 teaspoon sugar (optional)
Instructions
- In a medium bowl, combine the crushed tomatoes, olive oil, minced garlic, oregano, basil, salt, and pepper.
- If you prefer a sweeter sauce, add sugar.
- Mix everything together until well incorporated.
- Let the sauce rest for about 5 minutes to allow the flavors to meld.
- Use immediately on pizza or flatbreads, or store in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to one week.
Notes
For a smoother sauce, blend the crushed tomatoes before mixing. Adjust the herbs and spices to suit your taste. Taste before using to adjust seasoning as needed.
