Description

A hearty and comforting casserole combining tender potatoes, savory beef, and gooey cheese, perfect for family gatherings or busy weeknights.


Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 4 medium potatoes, sliced
  • 1 can cream of mushroom soup
  • 1 cup shredded cheese (cheddar recommended)
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Optional: chopped onions or bell peppers for added flavor

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Brown the ground beef in a skillet, seasoning with salt and pepper.
  3. In a greased casserole dish, layer the sliced potatoes.
  4. Spread the cooked ground beef over the potatoes.
  5. Pour the cream of mushroom soup over the meat layer.
  6. Top with shredded cheese.
  7. Cover with aluminum foil and bake for 1 hour.
  8. Remove the foil and bake for an additional 15-20 minutes, until the potatoes are tender and cheese is bubbly.
