Description

A comforting casserole of seasoned ground beef, tender potatoes, and creamy mushroom soup that’s easy to make and perfect for family dinners.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 4 medium potatoes, thinly sliced
  • 1 can cream of mushroom soup
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a skillet, cook the ground beef with the chopped onion over medium heat until browned; drain any excess fat.
  3. In a large casserole dish, layer half of the sliced potatoes, half of the beef mixture, and half of the cream of mushroom soup. Season with salt and pepper.
  4. Repeat the layering with the remaining ingredients.
  5. Top with shredded cheddar cheese.
  6. Cover the dish with foil and bake in the preheated oven for 1 hour.
  7. Remove the foil and continue baking for an additional 15-20 minutes, or until the cheese is bubbly and golden.
  8. Allow the casserole to cool slightly before serving.

Notes

For a lighter option, use ground turkey instead of beef. You can also try swapping the cream of mushroom soup for cream of celery or cheese soup for richness.
