Description

A comforting one-dish dinner featuring layers of ground beef, potatoes, and creamy mushroom soup topped with melted cheese.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 4 medium potatoes, thinly sliced
  • 1 can cream of mushroom soup
  • 1 cup shredded cheese (cheddar or your choice)
  • 1 small onion, chopped
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a skillet, brown the ground beef over medium heat, draining excess fat as needed.
  3. Add the chopped onion and sauté until softened, about 5 minutes.
  4. In a greased baking dish, layer half of the sliced potatoes, then add the ground beef mixture.
  5. Pour the cream of mushroom soup evenly over the layers.
  6. Top with the remaining potato slices and then the shredded cheese.
  7. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
  8. Cover the dish with aluminum foil and bake for 1 hour.
  9. Remove the foil and bake for an additional 15-20 minutes, or until the cheese is bubbly and golden.
  10. Let it cool for a few minutes before serving.

Notes

For extra flavor, consider mixing in some cheese layers between the potatoes and the beef. You can also add your favorite vegetables for added nutrition.
