Description

Quick and healthy Greek yogurt bagels made without yeast in under an hour.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup plain Greek yogurt
  • 1 cup self-rising flour
  • 1 large egg (for egg wash)
  • Optional toppings (sesame seeds, everything bagel seasoning, etc.)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a medium bowl, stir the Greek yogurt and self-rising flour together until a soft dough forms.
  3. Divide the dough into 4 equal pieces (or 6 smaller bagels). Roll each piece into a ball, then flatten slightly and form into a round.
  4. Use your thumb to punch a hole through the center and gently widen to make a bagel shape.
  5. Place the shaped bagels on the prepared baking sheet, leaving space between them.
  6. Beat the large egg and brush the tops of the bagels with the egg wash. Sprinkle optional toppings on top.
  7. Bake for 20–25 minutes, or until the bagels are puffed and golden brown on top.
  8. Let the bagels cool for a few minutes before transferring to a rack to finish cooling slightly before slicing and serving.

Notes

For best texture, use full-fat Greek yogurt. Ensure even baking by making bagels uniform in size.
