Description
A comforting casserole combining French onion soup, ground beef, and rice with melted cheese.

- 1 lb Ground Beef
- 1 cup White Rice (uncooked)
- 1 can French Onion Soup (10.5 oz)
- 1 cup Shredded Cheese (cheddar or mozzarella)
- 2 cups Beef Broth
- 1 Onion (optional)
- Salt and Pepper to taste
- Cooking Oil for browning the beef
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a skillet, heat a splash of cooking oil over medium heat. Add the ground beef and cook until browned.
- If using onion, drain excess fat and add chopped onion. Cook until softened.
- In a large bowl, combine the cooked beef mixture, white rice, French onion soup, and beef broth. Season with salt and pepper.
- Pour into a greased casserole dish and sprinkle cheese on top.
- Cover with aluminum foil and bake for 30 minutes.
- Remove foil and bake for an additional 10-15 minutes until cheese is melted and bubbly.
- Let cool slightly before serving.
Notes
Serve with a side salad or crusty bread. Leftovers can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
