- 1 cup white rice
- 1 can (10.5 oz) French onion soup
- 1 cup shredded cheese (mozzarella or cheddar)
- 1 onion, diced
- 1 cup beef broth
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Optional: chopped parsley for garnish
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a large skillet over medium heat, brown the ground beef, breaking it apart until fully cooked. Drain excess fat.
- Add the diced onion and cook until softened, about 4–5 minutes.
- Stir in the white rice, French onion soup, and beef broth. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
- Transfer the mixture to a greased casserole dish and spread evenly.
- Sprinkle the shredded cheese evenly over the top.
- Cover the dish tightly with foil and bake for 25 minutes.
- Remove the foil and bake for an additional 10–15 minutes, or until the cheese is bubbly and golden.
- Garnish with chopped parsley if desired and serve warm.

For a crisp topping, broil for 1–2 minutes at the end—watch closely to avoid burning.
