Description

Deliciously gooey espresso brownies that combine rich chocolate and coffee flavors, perfect for any occasion.


Ingredients

  • 1 cup unsalted butter (cold)
  • 1 cup + 2 tbsp semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 3 tbsp dark cocoa powder
  • 2 tbsp espresso powder
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1 1/4 cups granulated sugar
  • 3 large eggs
  • 1/2 tbsp vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (180°C) and line an 8×8 baking pan with parchment paper.
  2. In a stainless steel pan, brown the butter over medium heat for about 10-12 minutes.
  3. Add the chocolate chips to the bowl of browned butter and stir until melted and smooth. Let it cool slightly.
  4. In another bowl, whisk together the flour, cocoa powder, espresso powder, and salt.
  5. In a mixing bowl, beat the eggs, sugar, and vanilla on medium speed for 1-2 minutes until fluffy.
  6. With the mixer on low, stream the melted chocolate and butter mixture into the egg mixture, stirring until just combined.
  7. Gently fold in the dry ingredients until fully integrated.
  8. Pour the batter into the prepared baking pan and bake for 30-40 minutes or until a toothpick comes out with moist crumbs.
  9. Allow the brownies to cool completely on a wire rack, then cut into 16 squares.

Notes

Store brownies in an airtight container at room temperature for up to a week. They can be frozen for up to three months.
