Description

A quick and easy homemade pizza sauce that’s fresh and flavorful, perfect for pizza lovers.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 (6 oz) can tomato paste
  • 2 cups water
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • ¼ large onion, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • ½ tbsp sugar
  • ¾ tsp salt
  • 1 tsp dried basil
  • 1 tsp dried oregano

Instructions

  1. In a large saucepan, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the minced garlic and chopped onion. Cook until softened and fragrant, about 3-4 minutes.
  2. Stir in the tomato paste, salt, sugar, dried basil, and dried oregano. Pour in the water and mix well.
  3. Bring the mixture to a boil, then reduce the heat to low. Let it simmer, uncovered, for about 20-25 minutes until thickened. Taste and adjust seasoning as needed.

Notes

For a spicier kick, add red pepper flakes. Use fresh herbs for a more intense flavor.
