Description

Delightful and chewy oatmeal chocolate chip cookies that are easy to make and perfect for any occasion.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1/2 cup butter (softened)
  • 1/3 cup brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tbsp vanilla extract
  • 1 egg (at room temperature)
  • 1 & 1/4 cup old-fashioned whole rolled oats
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/8 tsp cinnamon
  • 1/2 tsp baking soda
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 3/4 cup milk chocolate chips

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a mixing bowl, cream the softened butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar together until well combined and fluffy.
  3. Add the egg and vanilla extract, then mix on medium speed for about 3 minutes until the mixture is light and airy.
  4. Carefully mix in the all-purpose flour, oats, cinnamon, baking soda, and salt. Scrape the sides of the bowl to ensure everything is evenly incorporated.
  5. Gently fold in the milk chocolate chips.
  6. Using a large cookie scoop, portion out 8 evenly sized mounds of dough onto the prepared baking sheet. Lightly press down each mound to about 1 inch in thickness.
  7. Bake in the preheated oven for 11-12 minutes, keeping an eye on them to avoid overbaking.
  8. Allow the cookies to cool on the baking sheet for 20 minutes before transferring them to a wire cooling rack to cool completely.

Notes

Store cookies in an airtight container. They can last about a week at room temperature or up to three months in the freezer.
