- 1 lb smoked sausage, sliced
- 12 oz penne pasta
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 small onion, diced
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1 cup chicken broth
- 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
- ½ teaspoon paprika
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
Instructions
- In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add the smoked sausage slices and sauté for about 5-7 minutes, until browned.
- Add diced onion and minced garlic to the skillet. Cook until the onion is translucent, about 3 minutes.
- Pour in the heavy cream and chicken broth, then stir in Italian seasoning and paprika. Allow it to simmer for 5 minutes.
- Meanwhile, cook penne pasta according to package instructions. Drain and set aside.
- Add the cooked pasta to the skillet. Toss everything together until the pasta is well coated with sauce.
- Stir in shredded mozzarella cheese until melted, then season with salt and pepper to taste.
- Plate the pasta and garnish with fresh parsley before serving.
