Ingredients

  • 1 lb smoked sausage, sliced
  • 12 oz penne pasta
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 small onion, diced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1 cup chicken broth
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • ½ teaspoon paprika
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add the smoked sausage slices and sauté for about 5-7 minutes, until browned.
  2. Add diced onion and minced garlic to the skillet. Cook until the onion is translucent, about 3 minutes.
  3. Pour in the heavy cream and chicken broth, then stir in Italian seasoning and paprika. Allow it to simmer for 5 minutes.
  4. Meanwhile, cook penne pasta according to package instructions. Drain and set aside.
  5. Add the cooked pasta to the skillet. Toss everything together until the pasta is well coated with sauce.
  6. Stir in shredded mozzarella cheese until melted, then season with salt and pepper to taste.
  7. Plate the pasta and garnish with fresh parsley before serving.
