Description

A delightful recipe for banana bread inspired by Starbucks, featuring ripe bananas and crunchy walnuts for a cozy treat.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • ¼ teaspoon salt
  • 1 large egg
  • 1⅛ cups granulated sugar
  • ½ cup vegetable or canola oil
  • 2 tablespoons buttermilk or regular milk
  • ½ teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 3 ripe bananas, mashed very well
  • ½ cup chopped walnuts (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 325 degrees Fahrenheit.
  2. In a small bowl, combine the flour, baking soda, and salt. Set it aside for later.
  3. In a larger bowl, mix the egg, sugar, and oil until smooth.
  4. Slowly add the dry ingredient mixture to the wet one, stirring until just combined. The batter will be thick at this stage.
  5. Stir in the buttermilk, vanilla extract, and mashed bananas until thoroughly incorporated.
  6. If you’re using walnuts, fold them into the mixture.
  7. Pour the batter into a greased loaf pan.
  8. Bake for 50 to 75 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.

Notes

For a nut-free version, skip the walnuts or substitute with chocolate chips. Store in an airtight container at room temperature for 3-5 days.
