Description

Delicious bakery-style chocolate chip cookies that are chewy in the center with slightly crispy edges, perfect for any occasion.


Ingredients

  • 1 cup (2 sticks) unsalted butter, softened
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 3/4 cup packed light brown sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 2 cups chocolate chips (a mix of milk and semi-sweet)

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, cream together the softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar with an electric mixer for about 2-3 minutes until light and fluffy.
  2. Add in the eggs one at a time, mixing until fully incorporated. Then stir in the vanilla extract.
  3. In a separate medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt until everything is combined.
  4. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing on low speed until just combined. Be careful not to overmix.
  5. Gently fold in the chocolate chips until they are evenly distributed throughout the dough.
  6. Cover the dough tightly and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes.
  7. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and line your baking sheets with parchment paper.
  8. Drop rounded tablespoons of dough onto the prepared baking sheets, making sure to leave about 2 inches between each cookie.
  9. Bake for 9-12 minutes, or until the edges are golden brown and the centers still look slightly soft.
  10. Allow cooling on the baking sheets for 5 minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.

Notes

For best results, use room temperature ingredients and do not skip chilling the dough.
