Description

A comforting baked dish featuring tender chicken breasts smothered in a creamy cheese and herb sauce.


Ingredients

  • 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 clove garlic (minced)
  • 1/2 cup chicken broth
  • 8 oz cream cheese (softened)
  • 1 tbsp fresh chives (chopped)
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • Salt and pepper (to taste)
  • 1/2 cup shredded sharp cheddar cheese (optional, for topping)
  • Fresh parsley (optional, for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and lightly grease a 9×13-inch baking dish with cooking spray or olive oil.
  2. Season the chicken breasts on both sides with salt, pepper, and paprika.
  3. Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Sear the chicken breasts for 2-3 minutes on each side until golden brown. Remove from the skillet and set aside.
  4. In the same skillet, add minced garlic and cook for about 30 seconds until fragrant. Stir in the chicken broth and let simmer for 1-2 minutes.
  5. Add softened cream cheese to the skillet, stirring until smooth. Mix in fresh chives and adjust seasoning.
  6. Place seared chicken in the greased baking dish and pour cream cheese mixture over. Add cheddar cheese on top if desired.
  7. Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until chicken is cooked through at 165°F (74°C). Broil for 2-3 minutes for a golden topping if cheese is added.
  8. Garnish with fresh parsley and serve warm.

For the best flavor, use quality chicken broth and ensure cream cheese is at room temperature. Customize flavor by adding more spices or herbs.
